I live in rural yet urban Monmouth County, New Jersey where there are nurseries, farms, a very active Monmouth County Parks System, and even a Monmouth Conservation Foundation. It is a location that forces me to paint.
I paint in a manner that is realistic, almost photographic. One critique might be that realistic painting is safe, maybe old fashioned. I don’t think so. I think that every artist has something to say and for me this is the most straight forward way of talking about the things that I believe are important.
